WFW advises OX2 on development of 300 MW Italian solar pipeline21 March 2022

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised Swedish energy company OX2 on the development of a 300 MW solar pipeline in Italy, which includes, among others, the co-development of an Italian photovoltaic project with Avapa Energy S.r.l. (“Avapa”).

The ground-mounted photovoltaic project is currently under development in Sardinia and will have a total installed capacity of c. 30 MW upon completion.

Founded in Stockholm in 2004, OX2 has grown to become one of Europe’s leading independent developers, operating across the entire renewable development value chain with a significant pipeline of projects, including onshore and offshore wind and solar, spanning six countries including France, Italy and Poland. Avapa is a renewable energy developer headquartered in Bologna.

The WFW Italy Energy team that advised OX2 on the drafting of the co-development and asset transfer agreements for the project was led by Partner and WFW Italy Head Eugenio Tranchino, working closely with Counsel Luca Sfrecola and assisted by Associate Giovanni Benedetto. Partner Tiziana Manenti, assisted by Associates Anthony Bellacci and Antimo Nersita advised on due diligence matters.
