The LNG sector has evolved from the traditional point-to-point LNG delivery system to a dynamic market with integrated components, new participants and a deeper market.
This changing market has been facilitated by the emergence of floating modular construction for liquefaction and regasification as well as power and desalination plants in addition to new sales models created by LNG aggregators and traders.
These technology and market changes have enabled a different LNG value chain to emerge in the form of LNG to Power projects. To successfully deliver a LNG to Power project an understanding of the ‘full picture’ created by the multiple project on project risks is required.
In this first of a series of webinars, we look at the anatomy of LNG to Power projects and discuss the structuring and contracting strategies that can be utilised to mitigate the project on project risks that emerge when you combine LNG sales, Floating Storage Regasification Units (FSRUs) and Independent Power Projects (IPPs).
