WFW promotes seven lawyers to counsel8 May 2025

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is pleased to announce it has promoted seven lawyers to counsel. They are:

Pierre Chipaux – Corporate, Paris

Pierre specialises in advising French and international companies and investment funds on corporate, commercial and contract law, with a focus on M&A and private equity transactions. He also advises and represents clients on matters and proceedings related to insolvency law and corporate restructuring, acting both as advisor and litigator (preventive and formal restructuring & insolvency proceedings), whether on behalf of company, shareholders, creditors, or purchasers. Pierre’s experience spans a variety of sectors, including energy, transport, innovation technology, foodtech and real estate as well as in the manufacturing and services industries.

Archit Dhir – Dispute Resolution, London

Archit is a dispute resolution lawyer in the maritime and international trade sectors. His expertise spans the full spectrum of shipping work including charterparty, bills of lading, bunkers, ship sales and repairs, trade finance, sanctions, collisions and commodities disputes, and more recently trade digitalisation. He acts for a range of clients including owners, charterers, P&I Clubs, insurers, traders, cargo interests and maritime investment companies.

Lidia Fernandez Jimenez – Regulatory, Public Law & Competition, Madrid

Lidia focusses on the energy sector, advising domestic and international clients on all regulatory requirements for their projects whether using existing or new technology such as BESS. Her in sector expertise includes advising on corporate and finance transactions as well as litigation matters. She also has growing expertise in the new emerging regulatory trends regarding data centres.

Nora Fleischhauer – Employment, Hamburg

Nora advises both German and international clients on all aspects of individual and collective employment law. She also has significant experience representing clients in employment court proceedings.

Alfredo Guacci Esposito – Tax, Milan

As a chartered accountant and legal auditor, tax specialist Alfredo assists domestic and international clients on corporate matters including VAT, transfer pricing, stock option plans, insolvency procedures and restructuring transactions. He regularly advises on M&A transactions and corporate reorganisations, notably in the renewable energy sector, with a particular focus on finance and real estate tax. Alfredo also has extensive experience in tax litigation and pre-litigation matters, including tax assessments and settlement procedures.

Erica Lacombe – Assets & Structured Finance, Athens

Erica specialises in shipping finance, ship sale and purchase and shipbuilding transactions. She advises major banks and financial institutions as well as shipping companies on all aspects of loan and security documentation, sale and purchase agreements, shipbuilding contracts and the restructuring of ship finance deals. She also has strong expertise in yacht financing.

Román Pazos – Corporate, Madrid

With a strong focus on the energy and infrastructure sectors, Román advises international and domestic clients on all aspects of corporate transactions including M&A, private equity transactions and corporate restructuring.
