Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that Asia Projects and Corporate Group and WFW LVN Hanoi office Head Linh Doan and Singapore-based Assets & Structured Finance Partner Mei Lin Goh, have been named ‘Energy, Natural Resources and Mining Lawyer of the Year’ and ‘Shipping and Maritime Lawyer of the Year’ respectively at Euromoney’s Asia Women in Business Law Awards (“WIBLA”) 2021.

WIBLA brings together the best female lawyers from across the region to celebrate the advancements of women in the legal profession, both in-house and in private practice. The awards place great importance on celebrating diversity and inclusion through progressive initiatives including gender diversity, innovation, mentoring, talent management and pro bono work, as well leading the effort to advance women and diversity in the legal industry.

Mei commented, “I am pleased to have received this prestigious award and fortunate to be part of a firm that encourages and supports women in leadership.”

Linh added “I am extremely grateful to be recognised as a leading individual in the energy and natural resources field. It is also a reflection of the strength of our team, of which the majority of our lawyers are women. This recognition would not have been possible without their long-standing commitment and contribution.”

This is the fifth time in six years in which our female partners in Asia have been recognised by WIBLA for their achievements in their respective fields. Mei and Linh’s WIBLA wins follow Global Maritime Sector Co-Head Lindsey Keeble’s recent success at the WIBLA 2021 Europe Awards and Mei Lin Goh and Madeline Leong’s nominations in Lloyd’s List’s Top 10 Maritime Lawyers.
