Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised Megaride Bulk S.r.l. (“Megaride”), a special purpose vehicle of DeA Capital Alternative Funds SGR S.p.A. (“DeA”), on the sale of the bulk carrier “Chiara D’Amato” to Greek interests.

The ship, which was acquired by Megaride in 2021 as part of a restructuring agreement with Perseveranza S.p.A. di Navigazione group, was sold at her market price, enabling DeA to exit the dry-bulk sector. The ship was built in China in 2009 at Jiangsu Newyangzi Shipbuilding Co Ltd shipyard and was employed to carry bulk products.

The WFW Italy maritime team that acted for Megaride was led by Partner Furio Samela, working closely with Associate Sergio Napolitano.

The buyers were assisted by Ioanna Dimopoulou and Electra Panayotopoulos of Shoreside Law and Andrea Aricò and Thomas Schwenke of Piccinini & Partners.
