Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised Ktistor Group (“Ktistor”) – via three special purpose vehicles – on a financing granted to it by Eurobank S.A. to develop a portfolio of four energy storage system (BESS) projects in Greece with capacities ranging from 1 to 10 MW.
Founded in 1995, Ktistor is a leading Greek construction company with a strong track record of developing and building renewable energy-powered projects, as well as a portfolio of private construction and engineering works.
The WFW Athens Energy team that advised Ktistor was led by Projects & Structured Finance Counsel Valina Giouzelaki, supported by Senior Associate Dimitrianna Kolonia and Associate Fotini Nassou. London Financial Markets & Products Associate Kristina Buckberry provided hedging expertise.
Valina commented: “We are proud to have supported Ktistor on this innovative BESS financing transaction that powers investment in Greece’s energy transition and contributes to the development of our national energy infrastructure. The trust clients place in us to handle such landmark mandates reflects the depth of our knowledge and expertise in the renewables sector as well as our commitment to supporting ESG compliance”.
Ktistor said: “We are delighted to have partnered with WFW on these projects. Their outstanding track record advising on renewable energy transactions and recognised expertise makes them an invaluable advisor. For us, energy storage projects are a strategic priority to shift towards a more sustainable and efficient energy ecosystem”.
