WFW advises Blue Elephant on negotiation and execution of three long-term power PPAs with EnBW23 June 2021

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised Blue Elephant Energy AG (“Blue Elephant”) on the negotiation and execution of three long-term power purchase agreements (“PPA”) with German energy company EnBW, in relation to the “Fotosfera”, “Kissoro” and “Sunplex” solar parks in Spain’s south eastern Granada province. Each solar park has a total installed capacity of circa 50 MWp.

Blue Elephant acquires and operates solar parks and wind farms in eight countries with a focus on Western-Europe. Founded in 2016, it currently operates a renewable energy portfolio of 1,107 MW which contributes to the supply of sustainable energy by saving 960,000 tons of CO2 annually and provides 711,000 households with clean energy.

The WFW team advising Blue Elephant was led by Corporate Partner Ana Lorenzo and Public Law Partner David Díez, supported by Corporate associate Juan Area. On issues relating to German law the team was supported by a WFW Hamburg team led by Corporate Partner Dr Wolfram Böge.
