WFW advises Amarenco on new Osmo BESS project 22 July 2026

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised leading Ireland-based solar IPP Amarenco on the preparation of a legal due diligence report and on the project aspects of the development of Osmo, a new 100 MW lithium-ion LFP battery storage project with a two-hour capacity.

Located on a former industrial site in Southwest France, the project benefits from proximity to existing infrastructure and optimal grid connection conditions. Osmo will help reduce the environmental footprint of the project while adding new value to an underused land area. The project is supported by a strong ecosystem of industrial and local partners, and its financing was successfully completed with Société Générale.

With over 200 employees, Amarenco has deployed more than 2,000 large-scale solar photovoltaic and storage infrastructure projects across three continents, mainly in Europe. It has raised nearly €500m from renowned investors since 2020 and has more than 500 MW of installed solar power across Europe.

The WFW Paris Energy team that advised Amarenco was led by Regulatory, Public Law and Project Partner Laurent Battoue assisted by Counsel Antoine Bois-Minot and Associate Quentin Curnier. Partner Laurence Martinez-Bellet and Senior Associate Julie Michelangeli assisted on the bankability aspects of the project.
