Frederik is a Partner in the Assets and Structured Finance Group.
Frederik specialises in international asset, project and acquisition finance, corporate loans and leasing as well as restructuring transactions. His clients include banks and financial institutions and borrowers as well as lessees and lessors.
He is recommended for his expertise by the legal directory IFLR1000 and is frequently recommended by JUVE in its 2025/2026 rankings for the transport sector (financing and regulation).
- Advising KfW IPEX Bank and NORD/LB on the approx. EUR 122m financing of Rhein Neckar-Verkehr GmbH’s new tram fleet.
- Advising investment manager SUSI Partners AG on a new financing granted to German bike-sharing provider nextbike GmbH. As part of the transaction, the SUSI Energy Efficiency & Transition Credit Fund will finance bike-sharing infrastructure in cities across Europe, starting with projects in Germany as well as in Poland.
- Advising the international Wascosa Group on the third extension of its Senior Secured Capex facility with an additional €150m revolving volume provided by KfW IPEX-Bank and Rabobank.
- Advising Hamburg-based Eternal Power GmbH on the planning and development of its Dummerstorf green hydrogen project with a first-phase investment volume of €200m. An electrolysis plant with an initial capacity of 80 MW will be built by 2028 on the site located near Rostock in Northern Germany, for which Eternal Power has recently secured the land usage rights.
- Advising KfW IPEX-Bank and Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank acting as lenders on a €460m large-volume growth financing granted to the Railpool Group.
- Advising Flexam Invest Asset Management on the asset financing of a fleet of specialised wagons for CargoBeamer AG.
- Advising UniCredit Bank GmbH on a €25m loan granted to Elifriulia S.p.A. to finance the purchase of three Airbus H145 rescue helicopters from Airbus SE.
- Advising a syndicate of lenders and noteholders led by KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH on a €1.07bn financing provided to rolling stock lessor Railpool in a combination of secured bank debt and European private placement notes within its existing common terms financing platform.
- Advising Nexrail on the acquisition and financing of its rolling stock portfolio. Backed by InfraVia Capital Partners, Nexrail will supply low-emission locomotives for unelectrified routes and is initially dedicated to the freight and shunting markets.
- Advising Tank & Rast Group on the acquisition of a majority share in fleet ad GmbH, including CologneInvest GmbH’s entire stake.

Frederik Lorenzen ist spezialisiert auf internationale Asset-, Projekt- und Akquisitionsfinanzierungen, Unternehmenskredite und Leasing sowie Restrukturierungsmaßnahmen. Zu seinen Mandanten gehören Banken und Finanzinstitute sowie Kreditnehmer, Leasingnehmer und Leasinggeber.
Er wird für seine Expertise vom Rechtsverzeichnis IFLR1000 empfohlen und ist im JUVE‑Handbuch 2025/2026 für den Verkehrssektor (Finanzierung und Regulierung) als oft empfohlener Anwalt genannt.

- Beratung der SUSI Partners AG bei einer erneuten Finanzierung für die nextbike GmbH, einen europäischen Anbieter von Bike-Sharing-Lösungen, beraten. Im Rahmen der Transaktion finanziert der SUSI Energy Efficiency & Transition Credit Fund Bike-Sharing-Infrastruktur für europäische Städte beginnend mit Projekten in Deutschland sowie in Polen.
- Beratung der internationalen Wascosa Gruppe bei der dritten Erhöhung ihrer Senior Secured Capex-Fazilität mit einem zusätzlichen Volumen von 150 Mio. Euro, das durch KfW IPEX-Bank und Rabobank zur Verfügung gestellt wird.
- Beratung des Hamburger Wasserstoff-Unternehmens Eternal Power GmbH bei der Planung und Entwicklung des Projekts Dummerstorf mit einem Investitionsvolumen – in der ersten Projekt-Phase – von 200 Mio. Euro zur Herstellung von grünem Wasserstoff. Auf dem Gelände in Dummerstorf bei Rostock, für das sich Eternal Power gerade die Nutzungsrechte gesichert hat, soll bis 2028 eine Elektrolyse-Anlage mit einer Leistung von zunächst 80 MW entstehen.
- Beratung eines aus KfW IPEX-Bank und Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank bestehendes Bankenkonsortium bei einer großvolumigen Wachstumsfinanzierung i.H.v. insgesamt 460 Mio. Euro für die Railpool-Gruppe.
- Beratung von Flexam Invest Asset Management bei der asset-basierten Finanzierung einer Spezialwaggon-Flotte bei der CargoBeamer AG.
- Beratung der UniCredit Bank GmbH bei einem Darlehen in Höhe von 25 Millionen Euro an Elifriulia S.p.A. zur Finanzierung des Kaufs von drei Airbus H145 Rettungshubschraubern von Airbus SE.
- Beratung eines Konsortiums von Kreditgebern und Anleihegläubigern unter der Führung der KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH bei einer Finanzierung in Höhe von 1,07 Milliarden Euro für Railpool, einem Vermieter von Schienenfahrzeugen.
- Beratung von Nexrail bei Erwerb und Finanzierung einer Flotte von Rangierlokomotiven. Mit der Unterstützung von InfraVia Capital Partners wird Nexrail emissionsarme Lokomotiven für nicht elektrifizierte Strecken liefern und ist zunächst auf den Güter- und Rangiermarkt ausgerichtet.
- Beratung der Tank & Rast Group beim Erwerb der Mehrheit an der fleet ad GmbH, einschließlich der gesamten Beteiligung an der CologneInvest GmbH.
