Christina is a Partner in the Assets & Structured Finance Group.
She specialises in the maritime, banking and financial sectors.
Christina has wide experience in cross-border asset finance transactions, fleet acquisitions, newbuilding contracts, sale and purchase agreements, sale and leaseback deals, bond issuance, ECA-backed facilities, loan portfolio transfers, loan restructurings, corporate acquisitions and public offerings.
She advises shipowning companies and operators, banks, financial institutions as well as private equity funds.
Christina joined the firm in 2017 after working in both an international and a Greek law firm. She is dual-qualified to practice law in both England and Greece and is fluent in English and Greek alongside speaking some Arabic.
Christina is recommended as an expert asset finance lawyer by legal directory IFLR1000.
- Advising Attica Holdings S.A. on the negotiation of bareboat charter documentation with Stena Bulk International S.Afor two E-Flexer vessels being built by Stena at the China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Weihai) Co., Ltd with a purchase option; a landmark in the Greek ferry industry with engines designed to optimise fuel consumption and will result to the reduction of Attica’s overall environmental footprint through fleet renewal by cutting GH emissions per transport work by 60% compared to existing vessels.
- Advising Danaos Corporation on the refinancing of US$1.25bn of its outstanding senior secured debt (which totalled US$1.3bn as of 31 December 2020). The deal won the Bank Debt Deal of the Year 2022 by Marine Money.
- Advising Alpha Bank and Eksfin on the financing of three newbuilding AERO type high-speed catermaran passenger vessels for Attica Group.
- Advising HSH Nordbank on a US$460m loan facility to Capital Product Partners.
- Advising the lenders on secured term loan financings for Navios Acquisition.
- Advising Danaos Corporation, a leading international owner of container ships, on the comprehensive restructuring and US$2.2bn refinancing with certain of its lenders including Citibank, Credit Suisse, HSH Nordbank and RBS.
- Advising Danaos Corporation on a US$450m post-delivery senior secured term loan facility to finance eight newbuild vessels under construction in the Daehan, Dalian and Qingdao shipyards to be delivered in 2024-2025. The lending syndicate comprised four major shipping banks.
- Advising Hellenic Bank Public Company Limited in relation to a US$50m term facility provided to the First Ship Lease Trust for the partial refinancing of an originally US$479.5m term facility which was entered into in 2011 and on which WFW also acted as the lender’s counsel.
