This is Ilios’ first green hydrogen production project in Italy.

Green hydrogen will be a key part of the world’s transition to net zero carbon emissions, and its utilisation (through various forms) will be an important feature of the next 30 years as use of green hydrogen-related energy in the global economy increases.
The two additional newbuildings planned – Explora V and Explora VI – will use LNG as a main fuel as well as green hydrogen to bring emissions down to zero in port.

Our Munich Hydrogen Summit gave insights into a number of current projects, looked closely at the regulatory framework they operate within and provided an overview of key considerations for the investment and financing of green hydrogen projects.
The HyBRIDS project’s primary objective is introducing green hydrogen into the Italian gas network through the use of innovative technologies aimed at making hydrogen produced from renewable sources and with low emissions more easily usable by civil and industrial users.
