The strategic partnership between MEC Energy and CleanCap will support the development of a German portfolio of solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects.
We are pleased to announce that a deal the firm advised on has been named European Power Deal of the Year 2025 by PFI magazine.
Located in the German states of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Brandenburg and Saxony-Anhalt, the projects will continue to be developed by Orrön Energy until construction begins and will have a combined capacity of 234 MW.
The wind farm in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is currently under construction and will comprise eight wind turbines with their own grid connection, generating around 100,000 MWh of green electricity annually.
The financing agreement includes an additional €1.3bn in accordion facilities which can be activated in tranches over the coming years.
This is the second transaction on which WFW supported NeXtWind in 2025 to expand their German onshore wind portfolio.
With the additional capacity equivalent to 1.5 nuclear power plant reactors, NeXtWind will be able to supply around one million households in Germany with green electricity in the future.
This partnership strengthens both companies in the German PV market, bringing together Stark Energie’s project development experience and Greencells’ EPC and O&M expertise.
