WFW expands GARI markets covered to become most comprehensive analytics tool of its kind 11 February 2026

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce it has added 16 new jurisdictions to its award-winning online interactive legal analytics tool, the Global Aviation Resource Index (“GARI”), expanding its coverage to 116 key aviation markets, more than any of its competitors.

The newly added jurisdictions are:

  • Albania;
  • Argentina;
  • Bahrain;
  • Botswana;
  • Burundi;
  • Cameroon;
  • Luxembourg;
  • Mozambique;
  • New Zealand;
  • Nigeria;
  • Seychelles;
  • Sierra Leone;
  • Slovakia;
  • Sri Lanka;
  • Togo; and
  • Zambia.

First launched in October 2021, GARI was originally conceived as a comparative index of restructuring procedures available in key aviation jurisdictions in response to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw airlines across the globe enter insolvency and restructuring proceedings. In January 2024, GARI expanded to include repossession and deregistration data and scores for all jurisdictions covered, all easily compared at an initial high-level view and further broken down for deeper analysis.

WFW Global Aviation & Aerospace Sector Head Jim Bell, one of GARI’s key developers, commented: “This latest expansion entrenches GARI’s standing as the aviation sector’s most comprehensive repossession and restructuring online resource. As the aviation sector becomes ever more globalised, accessing clear, comparative data and insights across emerging and established jurisdictions alike is critical – and GARI delivers exactly that”.

London Aviation Partner and GARI Editor Dominic Pearson added: “Aviation repossession and restructuring is shifting rapidly, with growth markets playing a bigger role than ever before. Extending GARI’s reach into new such jurisdictions ensures both our clients and the wider industry have the tools they need to make confident, data-led decisions in a changing landscape”.

Expanding GARI would not have been possible without the 16 contributing law firms that dedicated their time and efforts to provide us with the invaluable data from their individual jurisdictions. For the full list of the contributing law firms, please see here.
