Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that disputes expert Franck Poindessault has joined the firm as Partner, creating a new dispute resolution practice in Paris. Franck joins WFW from independent French law firm Boken and previously worked at Norton Rose Fullbright Paris for seven years in their litigation and insurance group.
Franck has 20 years’ experience in both litigation and arbitration, with special expertise advising banks and other financial institutions on liability and insurance disputes, especially relating to financial risk. His practice focusses on contracts law matters including disputes concerning the validity, enforcement and termination of contracts; M&A disputes arising from sellers’ representations and warranties; and business principles governing professional services in the French market such as fair competition and consumer protections. He acts primarily before the French Judicial Courts, whilst also offering alternative dispute resolution (“ADR”) expertise including mediation and arbitration proceedings.
WFW Paris Head Romain Girtanner commented: “I am delighted to welcome Franck to WFW. He is an undeniable expert in his field and will be integral in developing our new Paris disputes practice as well as helping grow our client relationships across our core sectors, in particular the energy space which is seeing a continued rise in contentious matters. I look forward greatly to working with him”.
Franck added: “I am thrilled to be joining WFW and relish playing a key role in the creation of its Paris disputes practice. I am eager to deepen my knowledge of WFW’s key sectors and help fill a gap in the services offered by the Paris team”.
