WFW advises THEON International on €325M syndicated loan facility 8 September 2026

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised THEON International (“THEON”) on a €325m syndicated term loan facility granted to it to support its strategic growth initiatives, acquisition strategy and continued international expansion.  WFW worked closely with THEON supporting them through all stages of the transaction.

The transaction represents one of the most significant syndicated financings recently completed for a Greek-founded corporate group, attracting substantial interest from both domestic and international financial institutions, resulting in commitments exceeding the original financing target and an increase in the facility amount.

The syndicate of lenders includes Alpha Bank, acting as leading bank and coordinator with CrediaBank, Eurobank, National Bank of Greece and Piraeus Bank participating as Mandated Lead Arrangers and Lenders, and BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank participating as Lead Arrangers and Lenders.

THEON is a leading European defence technology group that develops and builds customised night vision and thermal imaging systems for military and security applications for a global clientele.

The WFW Athens Assets & Structured Finance team that advised THEON was led by Partner Christina Economides, supported by Associate Marianna Psarrou.

Christina commented: “We are pleased to have advised THEON on this landmark financing. The strong support shown by both Greek and international banks is a testament to THEON’s impressive growth trajectory and strategic vision. This transaction represents another important milestone in the company’s development, and we are pleased to have assisted THEON in successfully securing financing to support its next phase of growth”.

Alpha Bank was advised by Norton Rose Fullbright.
