WFW advises Nordic Solar Energy on €23m PV portfolio financing18 December 2019

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised Danish investment firm Nordic Solar Energy A/S (“Nordic Solar Energy”) on a €23m loan facility for the project financing of its Italian photovoltaic (PV) portfolio with a total capacity of circa 14 MWp.

The facility was granted by a consortium of lenders comprising Iccrea BancaImpresa S.p.A., acting as arranger, agent and leading bank, and Medio Credito Trentino-Alto Adige, acting as lender.

The portfolio, acquired in late 2018 from Sella Invest, comprises 14 rooftop and ground-mounted PV plants which aim at the production and transfer of electrical energy, located in the Italian Provinces of Pordenone, Genoa, Siena, Latina, Rome and Teramo.

Privately owned Nordic Solar Energy A/S is a Copenhagen-based leading energy company which owns and manages an expanding portfolio of solar PV plants in Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the UK, France, Portugal, Denmark and Poland for an overall portfolio size of 144 MW.

The WFW Italy Finance team advising Nordic Solar Energy was led by Partner Mario D’Ovidio and Counsel Luca Sfrecola, assisted by Associates Giovanni Benedetto, Amelia Garavaglia, and Trainee Daniele Sani.
