Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised China Aircraft Leasing Company (“CALC”) on the lease of four Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft to Virgin Australia.
The four aircraft, which are scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2023, will be Virgin Australia’s first 737 Max aircraft.
CALC is a one-stop aircraft full life-cycle solutions provider for global airlines listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The multi-jurisdictional WFW team that provided CALC with Australian, English and French law advice was led by Sydney Partner Alan Polivnick, by Paris Partner Philippe Monfort, Paris and Singapore Counsel Richard Williams.
Alan commented: “It was a pleasure to work with the CALC team on this transaction as well as the commercial and legal teams at Virgin Australia. This transaction further demonstrates the breadth and depth of WFW’s truly international aviation network and expertise”.
