WFW advises Beyfin on acquisition of stake in UniverGas and related financing14 July 2025

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised Gruppo Beyfin S.p.A. (“Beyfin”) on its acquisition of a one-third stake in UniverGas Italia S.r.l. (“UniverGas”), an Italian company specialising in the storage and distribution of LPG, from UGI International LLC (“UGI International”). To complete the acquisition, Beyfin secured a loan provided by Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. (“Intesa Sanpaolo”), on which WFW also advised. The remaining two third stakes in Univergas were acquired by Goldengas S.p.A. (“Goldengas”) and SCG Gas S.p.A. (“SCG Gas”), the latter part of the Socogas Group.

Beyfin is an Italian company specialising in LPG (cylinders, small tanks and channelled networks, automotive), traditional fuels (petrol and diesel) and natural gas. Focussed on clean energy solutions, Italy’s Socogas operates across multiple sectors to support sustainable growth and the green transition. Also Italian, Goldengas specialises in LPG, LNG, electricity and renewable energy. UGI International is a leading LPG distributor active in 15 European countries.

The multidisciplinary WFW Italy team that advised Beyfin was led by Corporate Partner Carlo Cosmelli and Finance Partner Matteo Trabacchin.
