WFW advises ABO Wind on CPPA with Groupe Pochet22 March 2024

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised project developer ABO Wind on the negotiation of a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (“CPPA”) with Groupe Pochet for the commissioning of its largest photovoltaic (“PV”) plant.

The agreement enables Groupe Pochet to pursue its CSR roadmap and decarbonisation plan. The solar farm will be in operation by early 2025 and will support the construction of the first electric furnace dedicated to the production of glass for the beauty industry by supplying it with green energy from the PV plant.

Established in 1996 and with a presence in 16 countries, ABO Wind has developed 5 GW of renewable energy projects, half of which are built. It has a portfolio of projects under development, mainly located in Europe, which represent a capacity of 21 GW. These include 4.7 GW at construction phase and a third of this capacity comes from PV projects.

Founded in 1623, Groupe Pochet is established on three continents with 3,400 employees and is an expert in the use of multi-materials through the innovative combination of its know-how in glass, plastic, metal, finishing and beauty accessories. As a leader in CSR activities, “Responsible Excellence” is at the core of the group’s values and strategy, producing high-end packaging for the perfume, skincare and make-up markets.

The WFW Paris team that advised ABO Wind was led by Public Law and Regulatory Partner Laurent Battoue, assisted by Associate Juliana Brandao.
