Ugo Onwumelu

Ugo is an associate in the Assets and Structured Finance grouP.
Ugo advises banks, financial institutions, operators and owners on all aspects of loan, security and leasing documentation within the aviation, maritime and rail sectors. He also advises buyers and sellers on sale and purchase transactions.
Ugo’s experience covers a range of other aspects of finance, including leveraged/acquisition finance and real estate finance, as well as corporate M&A, joint ventures and fund investments.
Ugo is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales and joined Watson Farley & Williams in 2022 from a US law firm based in London. He previously worked in-house for a global business information and analytics company.
- Advised Titan Investors on the financing aspects of its £19.5 million acquisition of Ringtail Retail Park, Ormskirk, UK.
- Advised OakNorth Bank on its £5.6 million development loan to Gallican Investments Limited.
- Advised TriSpan, a global private equity firm, on its significant strategic growth investment in Real Good Dental, a leading Scottish group of dental practices.
- Acted for Turkish electric car manufacturer, Togg, in its 50:50 joint venture with Chinese battery manufacturer, Farasis Energy.
