Rachapol is a Partner in the dispute resolution group.
Rachapol is a seasoned litigator specialising in a diverse range of disputes encompassing both Thai litigation and international arbitration under ICC, SIAC, LCIA and TAI rules. His practice focusses on high-value, complex disputes with extensive experience in the energy, construction, transport and insurance sectors.
Recent work highlights include disputes relating to construction projects, waste-to-energy power plants, hotel management agreements, JV and shareholders agreements, aviation, insurance, consumer goods related manufacturing, terminal bulk storage and medical malpractice.
Rachapol advises and represents both Thai corporations and multinational conglomerates, as well as individual clients, who have described him as “highly knowledgeable, capable, experienced in providing advice in respect of the arbitration/litigation with which we are greatly satisfied” and “discreet, reliable and pragmatic”. Rachapol has been recognised as a ‘Rising Star’ in the inaugural Asian Legal Business’ Thailand Rising Stars list.
Rachapol is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb) and is listed on the panel of TAI arbitrators.

- Representing a Chinese state enterprise construction company in an ICC arbitration and Thai court dispute, with a claim value of THB 13 billion, regarding the construction of a mixed-use development project featuring luxury hotels and private residence along the Chao Phraya riverfront.
- Representing a JV of leading renewable energy companies, in an ICC arbitration dispute, with a claim value of THB 350 million, regarding the EPC construction of one of Thailand’s first waste-to-energy power plants utilising waste tyre.
- Representing a leading oil and gas company, in a TAI arbitration dispute, with a claim value of THB 122 million, regarding the construction of refinery plants using pyrolysis technology.
- Representing a leading oil and gas company, in a TAI arbitration dispute, with a claim value of TJB 335 million, regarding a wellhead platform operation in the Gulf of Thailand.
- Representing an insurer upon international reinsurer’s instructions, in defending a lawsuit brought under a CAR insurance policy by an Indian contractor, with a claim value of THB 43 million, regarding an incident occurred during horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations in a natural gas transmission pipeline project of a leading oil and gas company.
- Representing an international renewable energy company, in defending a lawsuit brought by its former sales manager for wrongful dismissal and unfair termination of his employment.
- Representing an international dairy products manufacturer and distributor, in the appellate stage of a lawsuit brought by its employer for repayment of purported overcharges on packaging material prices over the course of 10 years with a claim value of THB 1.9 billion.
- Representing a leading international hotel brand/operator, in pursuing an SIAC arbitration dispute with a claim value of THB 32 million, while simultaneously defending a series of tactical civil and criminal lawsuits filed by a hotel owner who wrongfully terminated the hotel management agreement during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Representing a leading hotel owner and operator, as defense counsel appointed by a leading international insurer, in a lawsuit filed by an adjacent local hotel owner alleging negligence resulting in soil erosion, landslide, and property damage.
- Representing an international aircraft lessor in a lawsuit regarding the redelivery and repossession of multiple aircraft including aircraft documentation, following the lessee’s default on lease agreements.
- Representing leading international security logistics service providers in defending similar lawsuits brought by their customers, with a claim value of THB 135 million and THB 15 million, for the loss of diamonds and precious gemstones during transit to jewellery fairs in Bangkok and Hong Kong.
- Representing an international logistics service provider, in defending one of the first international air cargo lawsuits under Thailand’s newly adopted international carriage by air law, which aligns with the Montreal Convention 1999.
- Representing several international aircraft lessors and airport operators in the business rehabilitation of Thai Airways and Nok Air.
- Representing a US-Spanish LGBT couple in a high-profile, first-of-its-kind child custody lawsuit under Thailand’s new alternative reproductive technology law (also known as the surrogacy law).
- Representing an UK individual client, in pursuing a medical malpractice lawsuit against a prominent hospital in Bangkok and its doctor.
- Representing a group of over 50 international clients in seeking recognition and enforcement of SIAC and TAI awards against luxury condominium developers in Phuket in Thai courts.
