The vessel will be based out of the port of Ravenna, Italy, in the northern Adriatic Sea.
The vessel, which was built in 2015, has been deployed as an FSRU, but can also operate as an LNG carrier for the transportation of liquefied natural gas.
The Golar Tundra will contribute circa 6.5% of Italy’s gas needs, bringing the Italian regasification capacity to more than 25% of demand.
