It’s been 100 years since women gained the right to practice law and to celebrate we hosted a special Women in Leadership event on Wednesday 1 May at The Curtain Members Club, London.
Our Partners Anna Robinson and Rebecca Williams were pleased to welcome guests to a networking reception followed by a private showing of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg documentary RBG (2018).
“The documentary is a fantastic portrayal of Ruth’s legacy of fighting for gender equality. It was a really uplifting evening” said Anna Robinson.
The intimate and stylish private screening room was the perfect venue for our guests, Partners and employees to celebrate and acknowledge 100 years since the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919, which enabled women to practice as lawyers.
“It was a unique and memorable evening, and allowed us all to reflect on just how far women have come in the legal profession over 100 years. I am proud that WFW has so many talented women in leading roles, driving change and expertise across the firm” commented Rebecca Williams.
One of our clients observed: “This was by far the best external legal event I’ve ever attended. The evening hit the right note to celebrate, reflect and network with male and female alike to learn about a woman who puts equality at the heart of everything she does (a lesson to us all)”.
