On Thursday 19 March 2026, our Milan office held a seminar on “The Mobility Ecosystem: The Sustainability Challenge”.

The decarbonisation of road transport is driving a systemic transformation across technology, infrastructure, economics and regulation. As highlighted by the early findings of the Sunrise Sustainable Mobility Observatory (Centro MOST), this transition requires coordinated efforts between institutions and industry stakeholders.

Our round table fostered a structured discussion among leading players in sustainable mobility to assess the current state of the transition, explore upcoming challenges and identify the synergies needed to support an effective and competitive evolution of the sector.

Key takeaways:

  • data-driven decision-making is non negotiable: reliable data and clear scenario analysis are essential to understand where the mobility transition stands today and plan investments effectively;
  • collaboration will define the winners: stronger collaboration across the mobility value chain is crucial to manage high investment costs and accelerate the transition;
  • infrastructure must evolve alongside innovation: connected and digitalised vehicle technologies can meaningfully optimise driving and reduce emissions; and
  • finance is becoming a strategic accelerator: there is growing appetite for financial instruments that can help companies advance their sustainability journey and unlock new mobility models.

SPEAKERS:

  • Prof. Ennio Cascetta, Scientific Coordinator (Sunrise Sustainable Mobility Observatory – MOST Project), Chairman of Tecne (ASPI);
  • Marco Severi, Senior Global Relationship Manager (SACE);
  • Michele De Gaspari, CEO (E.On Drive Infrastructure Italy);
