The coronavirus pandemic represents a major challenge for economies around the world, including France. To address its impact on the award and performance of public contracts, the French Government issued an order providing exceptional and temporary measures to remedy this issue. Such exceptional and temporary measures should not, however, eclipse traditional French public contract rules which could also offer remedies of their own to deal with the impact of COVID-19.
