WFW successfully represents SEAM before Tuscany TAR25 July 2023

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) successfully represented the Società Esercizio Aeroporto Maremma S.p.A. (“SEAM”) before the Regional Administrative Court of Tuscany (“Tuscany TAR”) in an appeal to recognise the illegality of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Defence’s failure to respond to SEAM’s application for a concession for the total management of Grosseto airport.

SEAM is the management company for Grosseto airport, a ‘joint-use’ facility that primarily acts as an Italian Air Force base, located in Tuscany, Italy. SEAM’s application for the total management of the airport had been pending since 1998.

The court accepted WFW’s arguments that the ministries’ silence and failure to respond to the application were unlawful and consequently ordered for a response to be made within thirty days.

The WFW Italy Administrative and Regulatory team that advised SEAM was led by Partner Giannalberto Mazzei and Of Counsel Matteo Castioni, working closely with Senior Associate Alessandro di Carlo, and Associates Ludovica Cesari and Cesare Fossati.
