Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is pleased to announce that a deal the firm advised on has been named European Power Deal of the Year 2025 by PFI magazine.
WFW advised NeXtWind on the corporate and project law aspects of the €1.4bn largest-of-its-kind syndicated loan granted to it for the expansion of its wind energy portfolio in Germany, as well as related borrower due diligence. The financing agreement includes an additional €1.3bn in accordion facilities, which can be activated in tranches over the coming years.
Hamburg Corporate Partner Wolfram Böge, who led the WFW Germany Corporate team that advised NeXtWind, commented: “We are delighted that this landmark transaction, which represents an important contribution to Germany’s energy transition, has been recognised by PFI. Being instructed on such a matter highlights WFW’s deep sector knowledge and resources, as well as our expertise in advising on big‑ticket transactions in the energy space”.
The annual PFI Yearbook features the publication’s prestigious PFI Awards, recognising outstanding project finance transactions from the past year. It also reviews key market developments and looks ahead to 2026 with a range of themed articles and sector insights.
