Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is pleased to announce that is one of 14 law firms to join Iberdrola’s Construyendo Juntos (Building Together) pro bono initiative to support non-profit organisations in Spain. This is the first pro bono collaboration of its kind both in Spain and worldwide.
Construyendo Juntos is a multidisciplinary initiative in which Iberdrola’s legal and tax services specialists will collaborate with lawyers from the signatory law firms to provide high quality training services and legal and tax advice to non-profit organisations. This includes providing face-to-face training sessions, producing and publishing legal materials, such as guides on legislation and relevant legal matters, and running practical workshops.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony on 28 November at Iberdrola’s Madrid headquarters. Along with WFW, the participating law firms include Allen & Overy, Baker McKenzie, Broseta, Clifford Chance, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, Cuatrecasas, Garrigues, Hogan Lovells, Linklaters, Ontier, Pérez – Llorca, Uría Menéndez and White & Case.
WFW Madrid Office Head María Pilar García Guijarro, who attended the ceremony and took part in many following roundtables, commented: “I am delighted that WFW has joined the Construyendos Juntos initiative which will enable us to share our legal expertise with non-profit organisations and thereby generate a positive impact on the communities we live and work alongside in Spain”.
