Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that regulatory and administrative law specialists Francesco Piron, Antonio Colavecchio, Tiziana Sogari, Paolo Biasin and Laura Guizzon have joined WFW Italy. They all previously worked at Macchi di Cellere Gangemi.
The team, who will work alongside Partner and regulatory and administrative law expert Tiziana Manenti, enhance the firm’s regulatory and administrative litigation expertise in the natural gas, electricity, water and waste sectors.
Francesco Piron was previously an in-house lawyer at the Italian Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment (ARERA) before becoming a Partner in the administrative and energy law team at Macchi di Cellere Gangemi for over ten years. He advises leading domestic and international companies active throughout the electricity and gas chain, especially mid-stream and down-stream. Francesco has also advised on projects relating to electric mobility, district heating and energy efficiency.
Along with Francesco, the new team includes Prof. Antonio Colavecchio (Of Counsel), a professor of administrative law at Foggia University with significant institutional experience in the energy sector, Tiziana Sogari (Senior Associate), who has previous experience working at the Italian Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment, and Paolo Biasin (Associate) and Laura Guizzon (Trainee). With Francesco joining, WFW Italy now has eight partners.
