Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised Zaha Hadid Architects (“ZHA”) on its successful contract negotiations with NOT A HOTEL to design the inaugural hotel for the group’s vertex brand.
Launching in Okinawa, this will be ZHA’s first ever Japanese hotel project and will integrate innovative technology and design with the island’s rich natural environment.
ZHA is one of the world’s most pioneering and acclaimed architectural firms. Based in London, the studio was founded by the Pritzker prize-winning Iraqi-British female architect Dame Zaha Hadid.
NOT A HOTEL is a Tokyo-based hospitality brands, founded in 2020, that partners with the world’s leading architects and designers to build one-of-a-kind fully-serviced holiday homes across Japan. The company operates more than 30 properties across nine locations.
The WFW London team that advised ZHA was led by Construction Partner Barry Hembling, supported by Senior Associate Jamie Bell, Associate Dan Haley and PA Alice Parmar.
