Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised Po Valley Energy Limited (“Po Valley”) on its agreement to supply Hera Trading (“Hera”) with gas from its Podere Maiar-1 production plant in the Selva Malvezzi production concession between Italy’s northern Ferrara and Bologna provinces.
The sales agreement is set to start on 1 October 2025, replacing an existing agreement with BP Gas Marketing on which WFW previously advised Po Valley. The contract will run for a 12-month period and supply approximately 28,000,000 standard cubic metres of gas.
WFW worked closely with Po Valley’s board on drafting the gas sales agreement, the related Parent Company Guarantee and managing contractual relations with its partners in the concession project.
Po Valley is an Australia-based gas producer with over 20 years’ experience and an expanding portfolio of natural gas fields in northern Italy. Hera is part of Hera Group, a top Italian multi-utility company listed on the FTSE MIB and based in Bologna.
The WFW Italy Regulatory team that advised Po Valley was led by Partner Giannalberto Mazzei with support from Counsel Arianna Neri and Associate Maria Vittoria Sini.
