Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking (“Natixis”) on the financing of pre-delivery payments (PDP) for five Airbus A350-1000 aircraft for Philippine Airlines. Natixis acted as original lender, facility agent, security trustee, mandated lead arranger and bookrunner for the transaction.
The transaction features an exceptionally sophisticated loan structure supported by bespoke loan documentation.
Natixis is a leading global financial institution that provides advisory, investment banking, financing, corporate banking and capital markets services to corporations, financial institutions, financial sponsors and sovereign and supranational organisations worldwide.
Philippine Airlines is the Philippines’ national flag carrier and only full-service network airline, as well as Asia’s oldest commercial airline.
The WFW Singapore Aviation team that advised Natixis was led by Asset and Structured Finance Partner Richard Williams and supported by Associate May Eng.
Richard commented: “We are delighted to have advised Natixis on this complex and strategically significant transaction. The deal required navigating diverse legal and regulatory considerations across multiple jurisdictions and our team delivered with the technical precision and commercial focus that defines WFW’s aviation finance practice. It was also a pleasure to collaborate closely with the teams at NRF, Vedder Price, Walkers and SyCipLaw whose expertise helped ensure the successful delivery of this landmark financing”.
