Marilena Kossyfa

Marilena is Counsel in the Assets & Structured Finance Group.
Marilena specialises in shipping finance, advising a wide range of international and domestic banks and other financial institutions, private equity funds, and ship owning companies on the financing of newbuild and second‑hand vessels. Her experience includes syndicated and bilateral financing arrangements, sale and leaseback transactions, as well as restructurings and loan portfolio transfers.
She also has significant expertise in the financing of superyachts.
Marilena is qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales and as a lawyer in Greece.
- Advising Danaos Corporation on the refinancing of US$1.25bn of its outstanding senior secured debt (which totalled US$1.3bn as of 31 December 2020). The deal won the Bank Debt Deal of the Year 2022 by Marine Money.
- Advising CPLP Shipping Holdings PLC on the issuance and public offering of a US$150m corporate bond on the Athens Stock Exchange, guaranteed by Capital Product Partners L.P..
- Advising CA-CIB and HCOB on US$140m financing for GSL.
- Advising Danaos Corporation on the refinancing of US$1.25bn of its outstanding senior secured debt (which totalled US$1.3bn as of 31 December 2020).
