Jun specialises in resolving complex commercial disputes, particularly through international arbitration. For over a decade, he has been representing clients across a number of industries in international arbitrations under various rules, with a particular focus on disputes in the infrastructure and energy sectors. As well as arbitrations, Jun assists clients with court proceedings relating to arbitration such as enforcement, set aside and injunctions. Jun is also sought after for his experience in Philippine-related disputes and his long-time clients include some of the Philippines’ largest conglomerates.
Legal directories describe Jun as “very effective, and knows what the client wants…”, “praise his strong technical ability and commercial approach”, and “knows the case inside out.”
He is the founding director of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution in Singapore, as well as a founding member and former co-chair of HK45, a young arbitration practitioners’ group in Asia. Prior to moving back to Singapore in late 2017, Jun was based in Hong Kong for almost a decade and worked in the international arbitration groups of two international law firms. He also clerked for Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales of the Supreme Court and was also an associate at one of the Philippines’ largest law firms.
In addition to his counsel work, Jun also teaches international arbitration at the University of the Philippines College of Law and at the Asian Institute of Management. He also sits as arbitrator.
