Haeran Chung
Counsel
Haeran is a Counsel in the Dispute Resolution Group.
Haeran specialises in commercial litigation and international arbitration, with extensive experience in advising and representing corporate and sovereign clients in a broad range of disputes, including in energy and resources, aviation, technology, financial services, private equity and contentious regulatory actions.
Haeran has conducted arbitrations under the ICC, HKIAC, SIAC, ACICA, UNCITRAL and ICSID Rules.
Prior to joining Watson Farley & Williams, Haeran was a Senior Associate in a leading international law firm.
Haeran is fluent in English, Korean and French.
- Acting for Airbus in defending a claim brought by Qatar Airways arising from an aircraft manufacture agreement and surface degradation issues on the A350 programme.
- Acting for a global aerospace company in an ICC dispute concerning service, representation and distribution agreements (Paris seat, French and Singapore law).
- Representing two South-East Asian State entities in a US$1bn UNCITRAL arbitration dispute concerning the award of a national energy concession (Singapore seat).
- Advising a subsidiary of a South American conglomerate in relation to a US$1bn+ ICSID arbitration claim arising from an offshore gas pipeline project.
- Sitting as Tribunal Secretary in an HKIAC arbitration relating to a shareholder dispute (Hong Kong seat, Hong Kong law).
