Guillaume is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution group.
With more than 13 years’ experience advising clients across the Middle East, Guillaume is highly regarded for his expertise advising on high-value and technically complex disputes in the infrastructure and construction sectors. His practice is focussed on complex international arbitration, litigation and project advisory work. He has represented employers, contractors and project companies in some of the Middle East’s most significant disputes, including matters related to major transport, energy and mixed-use developments.
Guillaume is qualified in New York and has rights of audience before the DIFC Courts. He is fluent in both English and French and has extensive experience acting in proceedings under ICC, LCIA, DIAC and SCCA rules as well as before regional courts.
- Represented the main contractor in three arbitrations against a subcontractor in disputes arising out of the construction of a multi-purpose project in Qatar. Advised the client in related DAB proceedings.
- Represented the main contractor in a dispute against the subcontractor arising out of the construction of security systems on a strategic regional port. Engaged to perform oral advocacy on this case, both in first instance and the appeal.
- Represented the employer in claims brought by the main contractor and by subcontractors on a major project in Jeddah.
- Represented the employer in four ICC arbitrations arising out of the construction and the commissioning of the world's largest chemical plant ever to be constructed in one phase. Total value of the claims circa US$680m.
- Represented a contractor in a dispute against the employer arising out of the construction of a power station in Iraq. Total value of the claims circa US$800m.
