George is an Associate in the London Projects group.
George specialises in banking and project finance transactions in the renewable energy sector, including solar, offshore and onshore wind. He also has M&A and construction experience.
Since joining the firm, George has spent time working in the firm’s London and Munich offices.
- Advising Société Générale on the project financing of the 88 MW Puskakorpi onshore wind farm in western Finland’s Northern Ostrobothnia region.
- Advising Banco Santander on a €1bn green loan with a European Export Credit Agency (“ECA”) guarantee granted to Iberdrola for the financing of the acquisition of turbines for both onshore and offshore windfarm projects in Spain, Poland, Greece, Germany and the United Kingdom.
- Advising the lenders and arrangers in relation to a junior financing for a consortium of affiliates of Cheiron Petroleum Corporation and Cairn Energy PLC to support their acquisition of Shell’s onshore upstream assets in Egypt’s Western Desert for a base consideration of US$646m and additional payments of up to US$280m.
- Advising a consortium of lenders comprising Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale and NatWest on the £243m refinancing of a portfolio of 28 operating solar PV assets with a combined installed capacity of 321 MW located in England and Wales.
- Advising Lloyds Bank, NatWest and Allied Irish Bank acting as lenders on an innovative £230m finance facility granted to Low Carbon to create 1 GW of solar PV capacity.
