Is smart the future in real estate? Will the transformation to a sustainable real estate industry only succeed through smart buildings, especially in the revitalisation of existing buildings? From a legal perspective, the focus is primarily on the end users and thus the employees of the real estate owners or tenants. Who owns the data collected by a smart building? Does the employee have to fear that the employer will use this data to take legal action under labour law? With a view to practice, we want to develop approaches to solutions on how these uncertainties can be eliminated on the owner and user side.
