WFW Sustainability Imperative – Part 1 report wins Green Finance award16 September 2021

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted that the firm’s thought leadership report, The Sustainability Imperative – Part 1, won the Green Finance award at the Shipping Professional Network London’s (“SPNL”) Sustainable Growth and Recovery Awards for Innovations in Environmental and Social Governance ceremony held on 14 September 2021 at the Museum of London as part of London International Shipping Week.

SPNL is London’s meeting place for young shipping professionals with industry support, including the UK Chamber of Shipping. Their awards acknowledge the people and organisations that have made significant contributions to the shipping industry in several categories based on LISW’s 2021 environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) theme, with results based on voting by SPNL members.

Launched in February 2021, The Sustainability Imperative – Part 1 report draws on a series of in-depth interviews and a global survey of 545 senior industry leaders, to explore the shipping world’s views on sustainability and governance and what actions it is taking as a result. It also asks how these issues might affect the way the shipping sector finances itself and even the very structure of the industry itself.

WFW Global Maritime Sector Co-Head Lindsey Keeble commented: “We’re very pleased that SPNL members, who represent the future of the maritime industry, chose The Sustainability Imperative – Part 1 to win their Green Finance award. Congratulations to everyone at WFW, not to mention all those who participated in the interviews, who helped produce the report”.
