Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that a transaction the firm advised on was named ‘Loans and Financing: Asset Finance Deal of the Year’ at the Finance Dublin Deals of the Year Awards 2026.
WFW advised Kartesia Asset Finance (“KAF”), part of the well-known European private debt firm Kartesia, on a portfolio financing with Space Leasing International (SLI), an aerospace subsidiary of Libra Group, in relation to 13 space communications ground antennas located across multiple jurisdictions. The agreement included tailored leasing and asset finance structures allowing aerospace operators to scale without heavy initial capital expenditures.
The WFW London Aviation and Aerospace team that advised KAF was led by Partner Patrick Moore, supported by Senior Associate Niamh Glavin.
Patrick commented: “As KAF’s first transaction the space sector, this deal also represents a major milestone for the burgeoning commercial space economy, establishing alternative, capital-efficient financing models for satellite ground and orbital infrastructure. We are delighted to have advised this long-standing client on this innovative financing, which highlights WFW’s leading expertise in advising on complex financing transactions in the space sector”.
