WFW Senior Partner George Paleokrassas named in Lloyd’s List Top 10 Maritime Lawyers 20235 December 2023

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that Senior Partner and Global Maritime Sector Co-Head George Paleokrassas has been named one of Lloyd’s List’s Top 10 Maritime Lawyers of 2023, one of the most prestigious accolades in the industry.

George is recognised for his long-standing contribution to the maritime sector over the course of his career at WFW, where he has held several key senior positions, his work in building Athens into the largest international law firm office in Greece and in the top five overall, as well as his ongoing excellence in advising major clients across the maritime industry on complex and often ground-breaking transactions.

Lloyd’s List is one of the world’s oldest continuously running journals, having provided weekly shipping news in London from as early as 1734. Its annual Top 10 Maritime Lawyers list spans private practice solicitors, in-house counsel and barristers worldwide.

George commented: “It is an honour to be recognised by Lloyd’s List as one of the world’s leading maritime lawyers. I am particularly proud of the appreciation of the work we did to develop and grow our Athens office into the powerhouse it is today as well as the transformation of our global maritime sector into a full- service offering encompassing finance, corporate, capital markets, dispute resolution, ESG, regulatory, sanctions, employment and tax; something that took many years of hard-work and dedication. Of course, none of this would be possible without the support and commitment of the wonderful team of talented lawyers and colleagues across the firm’s global maritime network”.
