WFW named Australian Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group of the Year at 2024 Australian ADR Awards26 March 2024

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that we were named ‘Australian Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group of the Year’ at the 2024 Australian ADR Awards. The awards ceremony was held on Friday 22 March 2024 at The Australian Golf Club, Sydney.

The ADR Practice Group of the Year category recognises excellence across the entire ADR Practice Group and is assessed by a distinguished judging panel on excellence in the area of alternative dispute resolution, the team’s combined expertise and leadership in the field of alternative dispute resolution. The award is viewed as one of the most significant awards of the evening at the only dedicated national awards programme in Australia for alternative dispute resolution practitioners.

Established in 2021, WFW’s Sydney-based International Disputes team, led by Partner Nathan Eastwood, includes fee earners qualified in English and Australian law with decades of ADR experience in both Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Nathan and his team specialise in international alternative dispute resolution, including investor-state arbitration, state-state dispute settlement and disputes before the World Trade Organisation and have experience under all major arbitral rules including the ICSID, HKIAC, ICC, LCIA, SCC, SIAC and UNCITRAL Rules.

The team advises on first of their kind ADR processes for emerging trillion-dollar sectors, including the largest international investment projects in deep seabed mining and in space. They are recognised as world leaders in these fields, speaking at international conferences and leading universities and are the go-to ADR advisors for international organisations, states, and both private and publicly listed commercial entities.

Nathan commented: “We believe this award underlines the quality of our team, our clients and the mandates we advise on, by providing an objective, third party confirmation that WFW ranks amongst and leads the most reputable alternative dispute resolution practice in the Australian market”.
