WFW advises on IJInvestor Awards’ ‘Transport Refinancing Deal of the Year’ 202017 December 2020

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that a transaction on which the firm advised has been awarded ‘Transport Refinancing Deal of the Year’ by prominent energy and infrastructure publication IJGlobal at its IJInvestor Awards 2020 awards ceremony.

The IJInvestor Awards highlight those institutions involved in the most significant transactions in the energy and infrastructure sector. Submissions were assessed by an international panel of independent judges from around the industry and winners were decided with the aim of reflecting both the current market activity and its future direction.

The firm advised Ermewa Holding, the French parent company of Ermewa Group, on the establishment of a common terms platform which enabled the restructuring and refinancing of its group debt through a combination of multicurrency secured bank debt and US private placement notes for a total value of circa €1.5bn. For more information, see the WFW press release on the deal here.

The cross-border WFW team advising Ermewa was led by London Assets and Structured Finance Partner Louise Mor, supported by Senior Associate Konstantina Kyprianidou, Previous WFW Associate Parit Patani and Trainee Solicitor Guy Davis. French law advice was provided by Assets and Structured Finance Partner Philippe Wolanski. Swiss law advice was provided by Geneva CMS von Erlach Poncet AG Partner Pascal Favre, supported by Associate Audrey Durand.

Louise commented: “We were delighted to assist Ermewa on this complex, high-value transaction, and congratulate them on this industry recognition.”
