WFW announces partnership with Fifth Day4 October 2022

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that it has become a member of Fifth Day, an organisation that promotes non-legal pro bono opportunities for business operations teams, aiming to provide and encourage more skilled volunteering opportunities to employees in areas such as IT, BD and Marketing, Finance, HR, Facilities and Secretarial Services.

All companies that have signed up to the initiative commit to promoting pro bono opportunities among their work force as well as recognising the skills and experience gained in the voluntary sector.

Launched in June 2022 in conjunction with leading skills-based volunteering organisation Reach Volunteering, Fifth Day aims to connect highly skilled people with high-calibre volunteering opportunities.

WFW’s Global Sustainability Lead Ben Churchill commented: “WFW lawyers have been providing pro bono services on a broad range of matters for many years. As part of the firm’s new sustainability strategy focussed on our three pillars of People, Planet and Practices, we are aiming to extend our reach and take part in impactful pro bono projects that are aligned to our core sectors and expertise. Fifth Day provides us with the opportunity to take that extra step and ensure that our employees across all departments are empowered to utilise their unique skillsets and make a difference through skilled volunteering during working hours”.
