WFW advises Kommunalkredit on loan for 89 MW PV plant financing14 September 2021

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised Kommunalkredit Austria AG (“Kommunalkredit”) as sole lender on a single structured loan granted to finance the construction of a 89 MW solar PV portfolio in Ciudad Real, Spain, managed by Nexwell Power and comprising two solar PV plants. The loan was granted to the SPV owners of the two plants. The deal closed on 8 August 2021.

Vienna-headquartered Kommunalkredit is an investment bank focussed on developing sustainable infrastructure to improves the quality of people’s lives. Nexwell Power is a UK-based company that acquires, builds and operates solar PV plants, predominantly located in Spain, with a goal of expanding into other OECD markets.

The WFW Madrid Finance team that advised Kommunalkredit was led by Partner Rodrigo Berasategui, working closely with Senior Associate Juan Vicente Barquilla and Associate Antón Ramil.
