SAM IS AN ASSOCIATE IN THE ASSETS AND STRUCTURED FINANCE GROUP.
Sam advises banks, financial institutions, lessors, owners and operators on loan, security and leasing documentation across the transport sector, with a particular focus on aviation assets.
Prior to joining Watson Farley & Williams, Sam worked for a magic circle law firm in London and has previously completed a secondment with a major UK shipowner.
Sam has direct industry experience having undertaken a secondment at GD Helicopter Finance Limited, a startup helicopter lessor, in 2025.
- Advising Investec on Titan Helicopter Group’s financing and refinancing arrangements for five AW139 helicopters. The deal won Helicopter Investor’s Energy Deal of the Year 2026.
- Advising Eliance on the refinancing and additional loan facility for 65+ fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. This deal won Helicopter Investor’s Critical Mission Deal of the Year 2026.
- Advising GD Helicopter Finance Limited in connection with the financing of multiple Airbus H160 helicopters. This deal won Helicopter Investor’s Lessor Financing Deal of the Year 2025.
- Advising multiple parties on the merger of Tata SIA Airlines Limited (“Vistara”) with Air India, creating a unified full-service airline under the Air India brand.
- Advising Eliance Holding Company, S.L. on the refinancing of group debt and a new facility to support capex and growth, in connection with Swiss Life Asset Management’s majority acquisition.
- Advising Goshawk Aviation, NWS and CTFE on sale of Goshawk Aviation's commercial aircraft leasing platform to SMBC AC at an enterprise value of US$6.7 billion (with a previous employer).
