Rosie is a Senior Registered Foreign Lawyer (England & Wales) in OUR PROJECTS GROUP.

Rosie has extensive experience advising Chinese state-owned enterprises on cross-border energy and infrastructure projects. She specialises in joint ventures, project development with experience in international arbitration.

Rosie has assisted clients in major mining, renewable energy, and oil and gas matters across Asia, Europe, and Africa.

She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

  • Advising a major Chinese mining SoE on co-development of Simandou iron ore mine and related infrastructure in Guinea, especially on the joint ventures. This is one of the largest and most complex mining deals worldwide.
  • Advising a major Chinese power SoE on a 4 x 50 MW wind power project in Southeast Asia on successful negotiations with local joint-venture partners involving deal structure, risk analysis, share transfer and land acquisition. This was the client’s first overseas renewable power project.
  • Assisting a major Chinese power SoE in reaching an umbrella settlement with its local partner in relation to a 2 x 660 MW coal-fire powerplant in Southeast Asia, which involved multiple issues in connection with the project development including corporate governance, EPC, O&M and coal supply. This was the client’s biggest overseas project in terms of investment and power generation capacity.
  • Assisting a major Chinese power SoE on a share acquisition in relation to a 2 x 54 MW solar power plant in Europe. The project was the biggest solar power plant in that country at that time.
  • Advising a Chinese mining SoE on an acquisition of a London listed company.
  • Advising a Chinese state policy bank on a Euro 100 million facility extended to an Eastern European state borrower.
  • Advising a Chinese state policy bank on a USD 200 million debt recovery matter involving 4 Asian jurisdictions.
  • Advising a Chinese oil major in its successful defence against claims of fraud and misrepresentation worth USD 5 billion in a LCIA arbitration seated in London.
  • Advising a Chinese oil major in its successful defence against claims worth USD 800 million in an ad hoc arbitration seated in London.
