Rheya is an Associate in the Assets and Structured Finance group.
Rheya specialises in cross-border asset finance in the maritime and aviation sectors, advising global banks, aircraft lessors and shipowners on complex vessel financings, JOLCOs and aircraft portfolio sales. She has a proven track record in cross-border legal structuring, security documentation, and closing coordination for high-value transport finance transactions.
Prior to joining the firm, Rheya worked for a leading law firm in Singapore where she gained extensive experience in multi-jurisdictional corporate matters.
- Advising BNP Paribas as, inter alia, ECA agent, facility agent and security agent on the delivery of 8 7,000 TEU dual-fuel newbuild container vessels in connection with the US$1.17b JOLCO backed by Chinese ECA Sinosure arranged for Seaspan Corporation.
- Advising a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed company as equity provider on (i) a EUR139m JOLCO with Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank as, inter alia, lender and agent to finance 1 E-flexer class Ro-Pax ferry for Stena AB, and (ii) a US$100m equity-only JOLCO to finance 2 Superfast ferries for Stena AB.
- Advising a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed company as equity provider on an equity-only JOLCO to finance 4 portfolios of container boxes for a Chinese container lessor.
- Advising a French bank as security agent in relation to the release/reassignment of the account security, the shares security, the mortgages and the assignment of, inter alios, the insurances, earnings and the hedging agreement relating to 4 vessels granted by a Chinese state-owned marine transportation company in consideration of the repayment of the facility.
- Advising Standard Chartered Bank as, inter alia, lender, facility agent and security trustee on the financing of 6x B777 aircraft for Air India Limited structured uniquely through an entity incorporated in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City.
- Advising a Chinese aircraft lessor on the portfolio sale to a Saudi Arabian aircraft lessor of 8 A321NEO aircraft, including drafting and negotiating the sale and purchase agreement.
- Advising CALC Global on the sale to Dubai Aerospace Enterprise of 1 A321NEO aircraft on lease to United Airlines, Inc by way of beneficial interest transfer.
- Advising CALC Global on the sale to Dubai Aerospace Enterprise of 6 aircraft A321NEO aircraft on lease to Air India by way of metal transfer.
- Advising a Korean financial institution on the sale to an Irish aircraft lessor of 1 A330 aircraft on lease to a Canadian airline by way of metal transfer and the related security release.
- Advising a Japanese bank as lender on a revolving loan facility for an Irish aircraft lessor in relation to the purchase of an aircraft and/or an internal restructuring.
