Paul is a Partner in the Projects Group.
Paul is a finance specialist with a particular focus on project and structured financing as well as all forms of energy finance. Experienced advising both sponsors and funders, including traditional lenders as well as ECAs, IFIs and DFIs, Paul has advised on a broad range of large-scale assets, covering various infrastructure, power (both renewable energy and conventional) and oil & gas projects across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Paul speaks fluent Italian, Spanish and Portuguese in addition to his native English.
Paul has also been previously recommended for emerging markets matters by leading legal directory Legal 500.
- Advising ENI on the restructuring of project financing arrangements for the Damietta LNG project in Egypt, a joint venture with Naturgy S.A. and local government entities, EGAS and EGPC.
- Advising BNP Paribas, HSBC and the lenders in connection with the US$1.1bn financing for Ratio Oil Exploration to finance the continued development of its interest in the Leviathan natural gas field offshore Israel.
- Advising the Financial Investors on all aspects of the EUR9.5bn financing of an offshore pipeline project.
- Advising SACE and the commercial lenders on the US$1.2bn financing of the upgrade of the MIDOR refinery in Egypt.
- Advising First Gulf Bank, National Commercial Bank and Samba Financial Group in relation to the US$300m financing for the 200 MW Saih al Dahal IPP in Dubai using solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, the first private sector solar project in Dubai.
