Mhairi specialises in corporate and commercial aspects of energy and infrastructure projects, advising on project development and M&A in the energy and infrastructure sectors, including renewables (CSP, solar PV, wind, hydro, waste-to-energy), hydrogen, conventional utilities, infrastructure (rail, schools, hospitals, waste, roads, data centres), oil and gas and natural resources.

Ranked as a Leading Individual by Legal 500 (Infrastructure and Projects (Including Project Finance)), Mhairi is Head of the Middle East Projects and Corporate Group. Clients have recognised Mhairi as someone who “strikes the perfect balance between technical excellence and commercial ‘out of the box’ thinking“.

Mhairi acts on behalf of sponsors, lenders, contractors, operators and public sector clients across numerous jurisdictions in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe. She advises on, drafts and negotiates corporate and project documents, including shareholders’ agreements, joint venture agreements, sale and purchase agreements, government procurement documentation, concession and development agreements, supply and offtake agreements, EPC contracts, operation and maintenance contracts and ancillary documentation, as well as general advice on corporate and project feasibility and structuring.

Mhairi is a member of the Board and Vice-Chair of the Clean Energy Business Council. Also, as Global Scot, she acts as a business ambassador for Scotland.

  • Advising sponsors on the development and financing of infrastructure projects in GCC counties, including schools, housing, hospitals, container terminals, airports, hotels, training centres and data centres.
